German Dialysis Firm Fresenius Notches Deal In FCPA Probe
Law360 (February 25, 2019, 7:01 PM EST) -- German dialysis company Fresenius said it has reached a deal in principle to settle an investigation by U.S. authorities into possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, after self-reporting the conduct to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.
In regulatory filings issued last week, Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA said that as of December it has set aside €224 million ($254.4 million), which it believes "appropriately accounts for the consequences of the resolution" of the U.S. government probe.
Fresenius said it has cooperated with the U.S. government's investigation.
