Antitrust Counterclaim Dropped In Key Energy IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 27, 2009, 6:56 PM EDT) -- Petron Industries Inc., a maker of computerized drilling rigs, has agreed to dismiss an antitrust claim accusing Key Energy Services Inc. of asserting fraudulent patents for collecting data and conducting repairs in oil wells.

Judge David Folsom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas dismissed the claim with prejudice on Friday. The dismissal does not affect Petron's claims for declaratory judgment and tortious interference.
