Cable Co. Files Antitrust Suit Over Station Bundling

Law360, New York (October 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The nation’s eighth-largest cable television company has filed a federal antitrust suit accusing a broadcasting company of trying to shove an illegal tying arrangement down its throat.

Plaintiff Mediacom Communications Corp. filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa on Thursday against Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.

Mediacom alleges that as a prerequisite for granting access to the 13 stations that Mediacom wants to carry, Sinclair demanded that the cable company also carry and pay for nine other Sinclair stations....
