Clorox Sues Lysol Over Rival Cleaner's Dirty Ad Campaign

Law360 (March 20, 2019, 11:10 PM EDT) -- The Clorox Co. on Wednesday tarred rival Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC with claims that the Britain-based maker of Lysol brand cleaning products has run an ad campaign aimed at unfairly muddying the reputation of Clorox cleaning solutions, disinfecting wipes and toilet bowl cleaners.

In ads run on television and YouTube, and in similar messages posted on social media, Reckitt has tried to throw dirt on its rival with a string of ads that "falsely disparages multiple Clorox products and represents Lysol products as having performance advantages they do not have," Clorox said.
