Lucent Vindicated In Gender Bias Suit

Law360, New York (October 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has rejected an appeal brought by a former Lucent Technologies Inc. employee who claimed she was fired because of her gender and deprived of pension benefits.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit held that plaintiff-appellant Linda M. Fletcher’s contention that the work environment she encountered at Lucent was “male dominated” was inadequate to sustain her Title VII gender discrimination claim.
