Trump Proposal To Close Border Could Create Legal Quagmire

By Nicole Narea (April 1, 2019, 8:11 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump's proposal to close the U.S.-Mexico border could, if implemented, spur a deluge of legal challenges from green card holders and asylum-seekers claiming violations of their rights.

On Friday, Trump vowed on Twitter that he would close the southern border entirely, or at least "large sections" of it, within a week if Mexico does not "immediately stop ALL illegal immigration" flowing through it. He reiterated the message in another tweet Saturday.
