Waterfront Brownfields Bill Sent To House Panel

Law360, New York (August 4, 2009, 2:22 PM EDT) -- A proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 that would provide grants to restore former industrial sites near bodies of water has made its way to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce.

The Waterfront Brownfields Revitalization Act, or H.R. 3518, was reintroduced by Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., and sent to the committee on Friday. The bill has also been passed on to the House's Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and Committee on Rules.
