​​​​​​​Film Financing LLPs Not A Tax-Avoidance Sham, Atty Says

Law360, London (April 5, 2019, 9:13 PM BST) -- A financing partnership operated by the film company behind "Avatar” and "Life of Pi” urged a London tribunal on Friday to ignore the British tax authority’s claims that it had schemed to avoid its tax liability, arguing that even the ruling under appeal didn’t find any dishonest dealings.

Ingenious Games LLP, which is appealing a lower tax tribunal’s 2017 decision that held some of its financial losses didn’t qualify as tax deductions, maintained that it was “common ground” between the parties that “no dishonesty was found of any type” by the tribunal.
