Oracle Opposes Metaldyne Powertrain Sale

Law360, New York (August 4, 2009, 3:01 PM EDT) -- Enterprise software company Oracle USA Inc. has weighed in on the pending sale of Metaldyne Corp.'s powertrain group, saying its patented software cannot be used by a successor or transitional entity without its go-ahead.

Metaldyne owes Oracle about $171,000 in back payments that need to be paid before its software licensing agreements can be assigned, Oracle said in a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
