Texas Swag Co. Exec Admits Role In Price-Fixing Conspiracy

Law360 (April 11, 2019, 8:28 PM EDT) -- The president of a Texas-based promotional products company has copped to price-fixing, federal prosecutors said Thursday, the latest development in the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust probe into the online promotional products industry.

Prosecutors say Akil Kurji, the owner and president of Gennex Media — doing business as Brandnex.com — pled guilty in Houston federal court to price-fixing in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. According to the government, from around May 2014 to June 2016, Kurji schemed with competitors to fix prices for customized promotional products, including lanyards, wristbands, buttons and temporary tattoos.
