Zimmer Biomet Investors Seek Class Cert. In Stock-Drop Suit

Law360 (April 12, 2019, 7:26 PM EDT) -- Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. investors asked an Indiana federal court for class certification in their suit accusing the medical device manufacturer of intentionally hiding compliance problems at a major factory, which they say led to substantial stock drops when the issues were revealed.

In their motion on Thursday, the proposed class described their suit as a "paradigmatic example" of the type of case that should be certified under Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which lays out the requirements for a class action lawsuit.
