Retail Employees Hit Apple With OT Suit

Law360, New York (August 5, 2009, 1:47 PM EDT) -- A former Apple Inc. employee has launched a proposed collective action accusing the technology giant of forcing its retail store repair technicians to work overtime without providing them fair compensation.

Kenyon Zahner filed a complaint on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, accusing Apple of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Zahner brought the suit on behalf of himself and other nonexempt employees of Apple, claiming that the defendant knowingly had them work “off the clock” and neglected to pay...
