LA Cops Face Pretrial Setback In Don, Doff Suit

Law360, New York (August 5, 2009, 2:28 PM EDT) -- Los Angeles Police Department officers and their union have failed in a bid for partial summary judgment on some claims in their class action, brought against the city over pay for time they spend donning and doffing their uniforms.

The officers' and union's memorandum in support of the motion for summary judgment on compensability was too vague and factual disputes remain, Judge Valerie B. Fairbank of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said in a ruling published Tuesday.
