By Adam Rhodes ( April 17, 2019, 7:06 PM EDT) -- SoftBank, Toyota and Japanese car-parts maker Denso Corp. are close to investing an expected total of $1 billion in Uber's self-driving car unit, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. According to the report, an investment could value the unit at roughly $7.25 billion. The report comes as the ride-hailing giant last week publicly filed its long-awaited initial public offering, listing a preliminary fundraising estimate of $1 billion.
