1st Circ. Says Insurer Can't Collect On Settlement

Law360, New York (August 6, 2009, 4:55 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed that a Great American Insurance Group affiliate was “unreasonably deceptive” when it contributed $750,000 to a settlement fund for a Maine county accused of illegally strip-searching more than 1,000 arrestees, and then attempted to recoup the payment from the county.
