Judge Refuses To Dismiss Jones Suit Vs. Polo Over Licensing Deal

Law360 (March 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A New York judge refused to dismiss a lawsuit by Jones Apparel Group Inc. against Polo Ralph Lauren in a legal dispute over Polo’s attempt reacquire the license to the Lauren clothing brand.

Justice Richard B. Lowe denied Polo’s motion to dismiss the case, but agreed to stay a separate claim involving Jackwyn Nemerov pending a resolution of a contractual dispute between Nemerov and Jones Apparel Group through arbitration.

Polo said it would appeal the ruling.
