Former Comverse Execs In Plea Bargain Talks

Law360, New York (October 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two of the three former Comverse Technology Inc. executives who face criminal charges over allegations of stock options backdating are in plea negotiations to resolve the case without a trial.

Both William Sorin, the former senior general counsel, and David Kreinberg, the company’s ex-finance chief, requested a federal court in Brooklyn to grant them more time to negotiate a plea bargain with Assistant U.S. Attorney Linda Lacewell, who is prosecuting the case.
