Winn-Dixie Reorganization Plan Wins Creditor Approval

Law360, New York (October 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. is back in the express line to check out from bankruptcy protection after its creditors voted to approve the Southern supermarket chain’s reorganization plan on Monday.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Funk will hold a hearing on Friday regarding the reorganization plan.

Winning creditor approval represents a huge step forward for Winn-Dixie, since its reorganization plan, filed early last month, has been met with a lot of opposition, including from the government and the U.S. Trustee overseeing the case.
