Judge OKs InBev-Anheuser Merger Deal With DOJ

Law360, New York (August 11, 2009, 5:19 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has signed off on a deal between federal antitrust prosecutors and InBev NV/SA, allowing the Belgian beer giant's $52 billion merger with Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. to move forward.

Judge James Robertson approved the settlement on Tuesday when he granted prosecutors' motion for an entry of final judgment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, even as critics continue to blast the deal as anti-competitive and the U.S. Department of Justice’s complaint as narrow in scope.
