Former ABA, Florida State President D'Alemberte Dies At 85

Law360 (May 21, 2019, 10:27 PM EDT) -- Former American Bar Association and Florida State University President Talbot “Sandy” D'Alemberte was remembered Tuesday for tirelessly advocating for transparency and access in Florida's justice system while helping advance the rule of law and fundamental liberties around the globe.

The Tallahassee, Florida, native died Monday at 85 years old. D'Alemberte served in a number of public leadership roles during his lengthy career, also representing Dade County in the Florida House of Representatives from 1966 to 1972, chairing the Florida Constitution Revision Commission from 1977 to 1978 and the Florida Commission on Ethics from 1974 to 1975.
