Walmart, Others Sued For Infringing Uggs Trade Dress
Law360 (May 22, 2019, 5:21 PM EDT) -- The company behind Ugg boots is going on the trade dress offensive, filing infringement lawsuits against Walmart, Kmart, CVS and Aeropostale for selling look-alike footwear.
In three separate lawsuits filed Tuesday in California federal court, Deckers Brands accused the four retailers of copying its protected trade dress in "an effort to exploit Deckers' reputation in the market."
"Due to its long use, extensive sales, and significant advertising and promotional activities, Deckers' Bailey Button Boot trade dress has achieved widespread acceptance and recognition among the consuming public," the company said in the complaint against Walmart, referring to a specific style of Ugg...
