Retailer, Air Freshener Maker Clear Air In TM Dispute

Law360, New York (August 13, 2009, 1:28 PM EDT) -- Urban Outfitters Inc. has agreed to abide by a permanent injunction and pay a $25,000 penalty to Car-Freshner Corp., the maker of the ubiquitous pine-tree-shaped air freshener, for allegedly infringing Car-Freshner's trademark by making and selling its own version of the rearview mirror staple.

Judge Denise L. Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday signed off on a final judgment approving a consent decree between the parties and shutting the door on the latest spat between the air...
