Silicon Valley Chip War Brews With Suit Against Intel

Law360 (October 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A small chip maker has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against microprocessor giant Intel Corp., alleging the company’s most popular and lucrative products are infringing its patents for power-saving technology.

The lawsuit has set the stage for a Silicon Valley showdown between Intel, which is already embroiled in an epic antitrust battle, and Transmeta Corp., which recently transitioned its business model from product development to IP licensing.
