Allstate Strikes Deal In Medical Expenses Action

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Allstate Corp. has reached a settlement with plaintiffs in an almost decade-old nationwide class action accusing the insurer of failing to correctly calculate medical expenses in claims submitted on automobile and homeowners policies.

A judge in the Circuit Court of Madison County, Ill., gave preliminary approval to the deal July 16, and a fairness hearing is scheduled for Nov. 25.
