Hotel Workers Seek Class Cert. In Suit Against Hyatt

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 12:42 PM EDT) -- The lead plaintiffs in a wage-and-hour suit against two Pittsburgh-area Hyatt hotels and a hotel staffing company have moved for class certification under state law for a group of housekeeping and janitorial employees they say could number more than 100.

The plaintiffs, who seek to represent housekeepers and janitors at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-Cranberry hotel and the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh Airport hotel, filed the motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
