Crypto Enforcement A Priority For DOJ Tax Team, Atty Says

By Joshua Rosenberg (June 21, 2019, 7:17 PM EDT) -- Enforcing tax laws surrounding cryptocurrency will continue to be a priority for the U.S. Department of Justice's Tax Division, a lead attorney with the agency said Friday.

Richard Zuckerman, principal deputy assistant attorney general with the DOJ Tax Division, said his legal team will focus on enforcing cryptocurrency-related offenses to show the public that the agency will enforce tax crimes related to all different economic strata.

"I think it's important for deterrence for the public to know that the IRS and the Department of Justice focus in all of the economic strata," Zuckerman said during the New York University Tax Controversy...
