GM To Pump Up To $210M Into American Axle

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 7:14 PM EDT) -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc., once thought doomed to bankruptcy, has been propped up with a cash boost from General Motors Co. that could reach as high as $210 million, the auto parts maker revealed Tuesday.

GM will pay American Axle $110 million and may extend loans of up to an additional $100 million, the auto parks maker said in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The Detroit-based company makes drivelines, powertrains and chassis for light cars and trucks.
