Neuralstem Asks Judge To Rethink Trade Libel Ruling

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 3:06 PM EDT) -- Neuralstem Inc. has asked a federal judge to reconsider his refusal to dismiss trade libel and unfair competition claims brought by StemCells Inc. in a dispute over patents related to neural stem cell compositions.

The judge should reconsider because he applied the wrong legal standard in his ruling, failed to consider one of the company's arguments and misconstrued statements at the heart of the claims, Neuralstem said in a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
