France Targets Total, Shell Over Propane Gas Sales

Law360, New York (August 21, 2009, 4:05 PM EDT) -- France's competition regulator has warned the French units of energy giants Total SA, Royal Dutch Shell PLC and UGI Corp. of concerns about anti-competitive activity in the nation's propane gas market.

A spokeswoman for the Autorite de la Concurrence confirmed the investigation Friday, but declined to comment on the case because it was ongoing. She noted that the companies hadn't yet responded to the agency's concerns and did not expect a final decision in the case until spring 2010.
