Sotomayor Could Usher In Camera-Friendly Court

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 2:17 PM EDT) -- Lawyers and lawmakers who want to see TV cameras in the U.S. Supreme Court may find a new ally in Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who has suggested that she's open to the idea — but attorneys said they didn't expect the high court to embrace cameras any time soon.

Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., introduced bills in the 109th and 110th Congresses that would have forced the Supreme Court to allow cameras. Both bills were referred out of committee, but not considered by the full U.S. Senate....
