Continental Ground Workers Snub Union

Law360 (October 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a setback for the Transport Workers Union of America, baggage handlers and cargo agents at Continental Airlines Inc. on Thursday voted against union representation, marking the second such defeat in two years in which the union has been snubbed by workers for the Houston-based carrier.

TWU, which filed an election application in August, received 3,350 supporting votes, missing the 3,800 votes needed to represent the workers by less than 300.
