StarBak Settles Suit Over Video-Conferencing Patents

Law360, New York (October 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Visual communication company StarBak Communications Inc. settled two patent infringement lawsuits against Norwegian rival Tandberg ASA, entering into a new agreement for the licensing of video streaming and archiving technologies.

StarBak, based in Waltham, Mass., accused Tandberg of patent infringement in a lawsuit filed in May 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

The lawsuit also named Tandberg's Reston, Va.-based subsidiary, Tandberg Inc. The company also maintains headquarters in New York.
