NY Freight Co. Fined Over Scrap Exports To Pakistan

Law360, New York (August 25, 2009, 2:57 PM EDT) -- A Manhattan-based shipping company has agreed to pay a $70,000 penalty to settle allegations that it violated export control regulations by arranging for the shipment of scrap metal to a company in Pakistan without the proper license.

The acting Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Enforcement signed off on the settlement agreement Thursday, according to documents filed with the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security.
