Dutch Court Orders Mininova To Remove Torrent Files

Law360, New York (August 26, 2009, 4:50 PM EDT) -- A Dutch court on Wednesday ruled that the BitTorrent platform Mininova has been acting unlawfully, ordering the company to remove all files on its servers that point to works known to be copyrighted.

If Mininova does not comply within three months, it could be subjected to a fine of up to €5 million ($7.1 million), the Utrecht District Court said.
