Judge Rules For Cytomedix In Patent Suit Over Platelet Releasates

Law360, New York (March 26, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled that the claims of a patent at the center of a lawsuit filed by biotech company Cytomedix against a foot clinic should be broadly construed, according to the plaintiff.

U.S. District Court Judge James B. Zagel of the Northern District of Illinois ruled that the patent should be construed to cover any treating composition that contains all of the materials released by platelets during the platelet release reaction.
