Dominion Energy To Pay $3.8M To End Overtime Dispute

Law360 (August 19, 2019, 10:10 PM EDT) -- Dominion Energy Inc. has agreed to pay $3.8 million to end claims it cheated workers out of overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, reaching a proposed settlement agreement in Virginia federal court that would allow hundreds of employees to recoup thousands in lost wages.

The proposed settlement, submitted Thursday to U.S. District Judge John A. Gibney Jr., is expected to recoup, on average, $10,600 in back wages for roughly 368 workers. It also seeks approval of $1.3 million in class counsel attorney fees.
