Bribery Charge Added To Ex-Comverse Chief’s Rap List

Law360, New York (October 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former CEO of Comverse Technology Inc., who fled the country over two months ago when the U.S. Department of Justice issued a warrant for his arrest, has been indicted for trying to bribe someone to take the fall for an options backdating scheme that allegedly netted him millions of dollars.

According to charges filed last week in the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jacob “Kobi” Alexander offered an unidentified person first $2 million and then $5 million to take sole responsibility for the fraud....
