7th Circ. Remands $37M Fine For Weight-Loss Guru

Law360, New York (August 27, 2009, 6:58 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit partially remanded a district court ruling ordering controversial infomercial personality Kevin Trudeau to cough up $37.6 million, saying the court was not clear on how it arrived at the figure.

The circuit court upheld a ruling that Trudeau should be held in contempt for violating a 2004 order that barred him from misrepresenting his own published work during television appearances, but remanded the $37.6 million fine as well as the three-year ban on infomercial appearances imposed by...
