Law360, New York (August 27, 2009, 3:39 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to weigh in on whether whistleblowers can still file suit under the False Claims Act if state or local governments have already disclosed the alleged wrongdoing in administrative reports, taking up a fraud case brought by a county soil and water conservation district employee.
On Monday, the nation's high court granted the petition, filed by the North Carolina Department of Justice on behalf of a number of petitioners, including two North Carolina counties.
