Plaintiffs Granted Cert. In Red Hat Securities Case

Law360, New York (August 31, 2009, 2:51 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has certified a class of plaintiffs accusing open source software company Red Hat Inc. of falsifying financial reports in the early 2000s, as well as reaffirming Coughlin Stoia Geller & Rudman LLP as lead counsel in the case.

Judge W. Earl Britt of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina on Friday also reaffirmed the appointment of Charles Gilbert, a nonpracticing attorney and gun store owner, to serve as lead plaintiff, despite objections by Red Hat and its officers....
