By Jesse Greenspan (October 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted class action status to a lawsuit brought by more than 11,000 people who received one of St. Jude Medical Inc.'s allegedly defective Silzone heart valves.
Judge John R. Tunheim of the U.S. District Court in Minneapolis ruled Friday that the application of Minnesota law would be fair in this case, even for plaintiffs who reside out of state.
