Kinder Morgan To Buy Crosstex Gas-Treating Assets

Law360, New York (August 31, 2009, 3:10 PM EDT) -- Kinder Morgan Energy Partners said Monday that it would purchase the natural gas treating business from Crosstex Energy LP and Crosstex Energy Inc. for $266 million, including working capital.

After this deal, pipeline transportation and energy storage company Kinder Morgan will be the largest provider of contract-provided treating plants in the U.S. It will purchase 290 amine-treating and dew-point control plants, mostly in Texas and Louisiana, with additional facilities in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.
