Mexican Investors Sue Lloyd's Over Stanford Losses

Law360, New York (September 1, 2009, 5:08 PM EDT) -- A group of Mexican investors allegedly duped by a massive Ponzi scheme executed by Stanford International Bank Ltd. has filed suit against Lloyd's of London, saying the bank's insurer breached a contract with the plaintiffs when it failed to cover their losses.

Luis Gonzaga De Leon Gonzalez and four other investors filed a complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, asking Lloyd's to pay at least $5 million of the estimated $5.9 million the investors allegedly lost when they entrusted...
