Tyco Ordered To Pay $135M In Patent Suit

Law360 (March 29, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal jury in Los Angeles has awarded $134.5 million in damages to medical device maker Masimo after finding that a unit of Tyco International willfully infringed four patents held by the company.

Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California could award triple damages based on willful infringement.
