Stanford Receiver, SEC Clash Over $27.5M Fee Bid

Law360, New York (September 2, 2009, 3:08 PM EDT) -- The receiver overseeing the distribution of Texas billionaire Robert Allen Stanford's estate as part of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's suit against the alleged fraudster has fired back against objections by the agency and a court-appointed examiner to a request for $27.5 million in fees.

Receiver Ralph S. Janvey filed a reply brief Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, arguing that two interim fee requests he has made are fair given the complexity of Stanford's alleged Ponzi scheme....
