The Growing Benefits Of C-TPAT

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 2:30 PM EDT) -- For companies involved in importing into the United States that have not yet joined the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (“C-TPAT”), now may be the time for another look at the program. The benefits of C-TPAT membership have been increasing substantially in recent months.

C-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative through which U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) seeks to strengthen the security measures that companies take in connection with shipments that arrive at the U.S. border.
