Tech Patents Found Invalid In Suit Against NYSE

Law360, New York (September 3, 2009, 6:19 PM EDT) -- A federal court has sided with the New York Stock Exchange in an infringement case brought against it by Papyrus Technology Corp., ruling two Papyrus patents covering a device similar to multiplayer computer games are invalid.

Judge Judith Barzilay of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted two motions for summary judgment by the NYSE, finding that the patents asserted by Papyrus were invalid.

Judge Barzilay denied two further motions to dismiss the patent claims as moot.
