WTO Finds EU's Airbus Subsidies Illegal: Report

Law360, New York (September 4, 2009, 4:15 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization has issued a long-awaited but confidential ruling in a dispute brought by Boeing Inc. over the legality of European Union subsidies given to French aircraft manufacturer Airbus SAS, reportedly finding the aid illegal.

Although the confidential findings won’t be made public for now, the three-member WTO panel is said to have agreed with the U.S. that billions of dollars in subsidies Airbus received were anti-competitive and broke trade laws, an anonymous source told the Wall Street Journal on Friday.
