Fortinet Sued Over Patent For Antivirus Software

Law360, New York (September 4, 2009, 2:46 PM EDT) -- Deep Nines Inc., a provider of network security systems, has accused rival Fortinet Inc. of infringing a patent for technology used in antivirus software.

Dallas-based Deep Nines filed suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas over two patents it alleges are infringed by Fortinet's Fortigate line, which includes virus protection, content filtering, firewall and other security functions.
