New Orleans Agency, Insurer Drop Contribution Claim

Law360, New York (September 8, 2009, 4:29 PM EDT) -- U.S. Fire Insurance Co. has agreed to drop a contribution claim from its suit against the Housing Authority of New Orleans over coverage for an award in favor of residents who sued to recover losses for damage to their homes after Hurricane Katrina.

Judge A.J. McNamara of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Sept. 4 granted the insurer's motion to dismiss the contribution claim, which it filed after settling the claim with HANO.
